Latest Race News

01.11.09 - ABU DHABI - So, that's it then. The new circuit may be a fantastic venue but the racing was a bit of a let down in truth. Red Bull ended on a high with a one-two swiftly followed by the Brawns after Hamilton's race ended early due to a breaks issue. The final table sees just the one change; Will comes out on top with an impressive 717 but Math kept him honest in the end though after a season high score of 110 points confirms his second place. Beccy just pipped Colin to third whilst Borris's season of transfers can only get him 5th. Jenni wins the battle of the bottom 3 and Mike gets the wooden spoon. That's the end of this season but we'll be back in 2010 with a slightly revised format. See you then!

21.10.09 - BRAZIL - A cracking race in South America saw the UK's second world champion in as many seasons crowned. Despite a lot of similar driver line ups in the teams there was a wide range of scores. Math came out on top with an impressive 50 and Borris the least, despite another transfer, with 32. Despite all this there are no changes in the table to report. Remember double points are up for grabs so everything can still change.

04.10.09 - JAPAN - When you get up at 5am you hope for an exciting race and boy did we NOT get one. A great race from Vettel left everyone else chasing his tracks. Despire the Brawns only finishing 7th and 8th nearly everyone got a high score. Math comes in top with 41 and moves another couple of points ahead of the chasing pack going for second. Will came in next with 38 meaning the title is almost his. Colin moves up a place and Jenni moves away a little from Dave. Mike now looks set to finish last unless he can get a big score in the double points race in the last week.

27.09.09 - SINGAPORE - A high scoring week all round this week. Will's decision to drop Rosberg paid off (just) and as a result top scores with 41 points. Colin and Jenni also score well to close the gap on the people above them. Math is the only one to actually move up the table however, at the expense of Beccy. Just 17 points seperate Mike, Jenni and Dave in the race to avoid the wooden spoon. Meanwhile Math, Beccy, Colin and Borris are only 10 points appart. Will is well clear at the top by 82.5 points but with two regular and one double points race left it's not all over just yet.

15.09.09 - ITALY - [Updated: Jen scored 18 (364.5) points and Dave 19 (376.5), but both made one transfer reducing their scores by 4. Table, team and stats now updated.] Quick update as I still have no internet access at home. Dave and Jen made transfers so I haven't done their scores yet but the rest of you scored as follows: Beccy, 28 (430.5); Borris, 32 (424); Colin, 31 (425.5); Math, 31 (427.5); Mike, 28 (363); Will, 21 (1 transfer, 505). I'll update the table and teams once I have access to the net again, turns out it's a regional issue with BT so not a lot I can do.

30.08.09 - BELGIUM - Right, first off some really bad news for Dave. Some wrong maths has resulted in his transfer this week taking the price of his team to £58m, £3m too much. Therefore his shrewed move of putting Kimi in doesn't pay off as the transfer can't take place and he loses out on 5 extra points. Remember to always check the cost of your team!! Low scores all round as the big hitters sit back and let the others have a go at the front. Mike gets a shock highest score and closes the gap to Jen. Only one change in the table as Colin continues to slip and Math moves up to third to make the middle pack very tight indeed.

23.08.09 - EUROPE - A race with little action but changes in the field mean a mix of low and medium scores this week. Jenni and Borris top score, although the later made his 9th and 10th changes of the season meaning his spent 40 points on transfers and is in 5th place. At the other end Colin makes just 18 as his transfers let him down. There is only one change in the table as Beccy moves up to second. Finally those that stayed faithfull to Timo Glock are reward with an extra 3 points as he picks up a surprising fastest lap.

27.07.09 - HUNGARY - The last race before the mid-season break saw the big hitters back at the front. McLaren scored their first win of the season as Lewis Hamilton led home Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari. The big news of the weekend came in the other red car however. Massa was hit on the head by a part of a Brawn's back suspension. He was rushed to hospital and is now said to be stable after emergency surgery, our thoughts are with him. Anyway, back to the points! Jen leads from the bottom as a moddest 36 gets her the top score. Dave is a close second on 31 and Will is third with 26. Mike heads back to the bottom as he only scores 8 and the midfield catch up on Colin after he scores a lowly 11. See you in four weeks...

12.07.09 - GERMANY - Red Bull continued their impressive rise to the front of the field with a dominant 1-2. A harsh drive through penalty was not enough to stop Mark Webber romp to victory ahead of his team mate. Brawn once again struggled with the cold so there is clear devide in the scores this week, not helped for some by the fact it's double points. Borris scores a massive 108 with Will just 2 behind with 106. Beccy gets an impressive 94 and would have taken over Math but for her transfers. As it is all places are the same despite the mix of scores. It looks like it will be a straight battle between Mike and Jen for bottom place but with half the season left nothing is set it stone.

21.06.09 - BRITAIN - What was a very boring race was not so in FFF1 this week. There has been lots of movement in the table. The big move comes at the bottom as Jen shocks everyone and makes transfers, this in turn lost her 8 points and Mike's bigger score means for the first time this season he moves off the bottom. Elsewhere, the biggest score is posted by Math. Once again Colin closes the gap slightly on Will whilst Math's score moves him above Beccy and Dave slips a place to Borris' advantage. Next race is double points so with things this close it really is all to play for!

07.06.09 - TURKEY - An uneventful race decided by a first lap mistake means some more good scores this week. Colin tops with 44 to keep the pressure on Will whilst at the bottom Mike makes a big step towards Jenni almost doubling her score. How much longer can she afford not to make transfers? What this does mean however is there is just the one change in the table with Dave and Math switching places. It's the Brittish GP next where Button will be looking to make it 7 wins out of 8. We're only two tracks away from more double points so the next race could prove very important.

24.05.09 - MONACO - Not even the glitz and the glamor of Monaco was enough to bring the budget Brawn team back down to earth as Button continues to dominate and his team brought home another one-two. As such everyone but Jen gets a good to very good score. Only Vettel of the front runners failed to finish and with the Toyota's now back row material transfers are becoming very important (don't forget the updated prices from race 7 onwards). What all of this means is there is little change as Will once again brings home the top score, with Borris in a close second. Jenni slips all the way down to seventh and Mike is now just 22 points from escaping last place.

10.05.09 - SPAIN - An uneventful Grand Prix is often good news for a fantasy F1 game as it means it's normally the fastest, and therefore most picked, drivers that come home first. This was the case in Spain as a Brawn 1-2 and Red Bull 3-4 caused some good scores. Will gets the highest score for the second race in a row and extends his lead over now second Colin. Beccy falls back, in part due to transfers. The mid field is very tight and Mike is even catching up, now only 22 points behind Borris. The next race is Monaco where anything can happen!

26.04.09 - BAHRAIN - Double points were up for offer for the first time this season and boy did we get some big scores. Will more than makes up for an awful race 3 and gets a massive 96 points, moving him back to the top of the table. Colin continues his turn of form with an equally impressive 92. Jenni moves up to second but Beccy slips down to third from top spot. Mike manages to tripple his score in one race thanks to his transfer whilst Math's proved less effective as he moves down a place to sixth. The table is still very close and with only four races gone it could be all change once again very soon.

19.04.09 - CHINA - After another rain affected race it's all change in the FFF1 table. Week 2 leader Will has a race to forget and records the lowest score of all 8 players. This allows Beccy to move to the top with a good score of 26. The highest points total goes to Jen with 29 but that's not enought to move her above Borris as the bottom five remain the same. It's also a good week for Colin thanks to his changes, bringing in Brawn and Button. What this does mean is a gap is already forming between Mike and the rest of the field. The next race is Sunday in Bahrain, and don't forget it's double points so expect a lot of shuffling in the table.

05.04.09 - MALAYSIA - Just when you thought things couldn't get more complicated we get a race like that. A fantastic turn of events on track means things off it have caused some issues again. As discussed at the start of the season areas of debate like the results of this race will go to a vote. Before I got a chance to discuss this I recieved such votes from Beccy, Borris, Colin and Jen telling me half points should be awarded. As that's the majority the decision was made and that's what's been done. So, it's like this. Normal points are given for poll, fastest lap, constructors and finishing position as normal game rules dictates. Half points however are given for finishing points. This means Glock for example gets 3 points for his third place and the normal 2 for his top 8 finish, giving a total of 5 points. Simple. What this does in terms of the table is Will stays top but Beccy moves up to second. Math gets the highest score and moves to third, now tied with Dave who slips one. Meanwhile the players without Button lose out again and Mike is yet to reach double figures.

29.03.09 - AUSTRALIA - So we're finally underway after 6 months of waiting. Great race for sure (a phrase all F1 drivers are saying these days) but what about the first FFF1 scores. Well toping the table are Dave and Will on 31 points. Jenson Button was the big points earner thanks to his pole and he helped the top 5 in the table to more than double their scores in some cases. Beccy is just a point behind in second thanks to having 3 drivers in the top 6. in 7th is Colin with a lowly 5 points as he saw two of his drivers take each other out on the final laps when second and third. Proping up the table however is Mike who scored a sole point thanks to Nick Heidfeld's BMW coming home 10th.
